Gain Respect, Recognition; Write for Logan News Group

We are currently seeking highly motivated, talented, young journalists who want to learn the community news business. Cover community news, events, civic meetings and gain respect and confidence with each story. High School seniors, college students and seasoned writers all have an opportunity to join the growing cadre of reporters and columnists who cover our service areas.

The Logan TIMES~Independent is our flagship and we are branching out into new areas. Logan News Group's mission is providing community news and information in a readable format, on-line and via e-mail based subscriptions to our membership. Currently, we are following closely the events unfolding that will lead to the development of "the sinking homes of Logan" along Roosevelt Boulevard. Other items of interest are the impending proposal for a casino owned and operated by Trump Enterprises at the site of the former Budd Manufacturing company in the East Falls/Nicetown area; and the future development of Hunting Park and other area community parks.

As a grass-roots, community based organization, Logan News Group has its finger on the pulse of community and neighborhood issues. What's important to us is what is important to our communities and our readership. Help us communicate with our readers, and foster greater community understanding, and collaboration.

Be an important part of our mission. Write about community issues for a growing list of subscribers. Readers from every economic and social strata. You will be widely read, widely recognized and gain a sense of belonging in a long forgotten community.

If you have a flair for this type of writing, we want to speak with you. We want to add your talents to our staff. You choose the level of your commitment. You choose your 'beat' and have the opportunity to contribute on-line content that will make a difference. From the occasional community meeting, to in-depth coverage of a community issue, your contribution makes us a valid, valued community resource.
